A statement attributed to the Campaign High-Level Committee of Thalage Wal Goch says he is seeking a national parliamentary seat for Nasir-Dingkar Constituency No. 5, rather than the Upper Nile governorship.

The committee says it is responding to calls and messages about the office he intends to contest and photographs circulating online. In its account, delegates were asked to line up so their names could be confirmed; the photographs did not depict election voting.

These descriptions are the campaign committee’s account. The supplied photographs alone do not establish the purpose of the gathering or the activity taking place. SSP has not independently verified the circumstances in which they were taken.

The committee describes Goch as an SPLM candidate. This clarification does not establish NEC acceptance of a nomination, ballot eligibility or official confirmation of the constituency designation. It records the position conveyed in the supplied campaign statement.

CLARIFICATION: NASIR TOWN

Our campaign team has received numerous calls and messages based on misinformation regarding our candidate's position and photographs circulating.
