JUBA — The Political Parties Council says it has entered four pre-election coalitions representing 25 parties into its register, Radio Tamazuj reported after a Wednesday briefing by chairperson James Akol Zakayo.

The named groups are the National Agenda Coalition of Political Parties, Coalition of National Alliance of Political Parties, South Sudan Opposition Alliance and National Alliance of Political Parties.

The Council identified Thursday, 22 October, as the filing cut-off and urged members to finish outstanding documents, signatures and deposits. It said certificates would be issued by Monday, 26 October.

Registration, completion of outstanding requirements and certificate issuance should be tracked separately. This report does not establish that every file is complete, resolve rival-faction disputes or report a final post-deadline total.

The next public-interest test is publication of the certified register, constituent parties and written decisions on disputed applications. This coalition process should not be described as the nomination deadline for every candidate.
