C5 leaders call for a consensual roadmap, ceasefire compliance and credible conditions for December’s scheduled vote.
Following the dissolution of the unity government, the African Union’s C5 Plus leaders reaffirmed the 2018 peace agreement as the principal framework for the transition. They urged inclusive dialogue and warned that an election alone cannot resolve the political crisis.
The meeting did not issue a legal judgment on the caretaker administration or postpone the vote. The full election-readiness assessment and any final roadmap still need publication. The test now is whether the parties can agree on security, financing and participation.
