Western Equatoria officials and SPLA-IO representatives have offered conflicting accounts of fighting around Nagero, while authorities reported disrupted movement on some routes, Radio Tamazuj reports.

Caretaker governor Badagbu Daniel Rimbasa condemned attacks on government forces. An opposition statement instead accused government and allied forces of attacking its position in Bandala.

The outlet said it could not independently verify the rival claims. Reported casualty figures should therefore remain attributed rather than combined into a single established toll.

State officials also described uncertainty on roads affected by the incidents. The account is time-specific and cannot serve as a current assurance that a route is passable.

The immediate reporting priorities are independent civilian accounts, the time and location of each confrontation and evidence about access after the fighting. Movement restrictions need documenting separately from military claims about who won.

For communities, the practical consequences include access to markets, farms and services. Clear, regularly updated information would help prevent an outdated account of one stretch of road being generalised to an entire county.

Competing military accounts remain unverified. This report is not live route-safety advice.
