SSFF Plans January Start for Juba Stadium Floodlighting

The federation says national and international firms will be invited to bid; installation and commissioning are still ahead.

JUBA — The South Sudan Football Federation says implementation of Juba National Stadium’s floodlighting project will begin in January, following an announcement by federation president Francis Amin Michael published on 28 October.

The federation says bids will be invited from qualified national and international companies. Its announcement also describes a pitch-maintenance inspection and a commitment to regular upkeep. These are project and maintenance statements, not confirmation that a new lighting system has been installed.

Read against the October announcement, January refers to the forthcoming January; the detailed procurement notice should confirm the calendar date. SSP has not obtained a tender package, contract award or commissioning schedule and does not present a planned start as a guaranteed completion date.

For football, the eventual benefits depend on a functioning, approved system and clear operating arrangements. Installing equipment is one milestone; testing, acceptance and reliable operation are separate matters. No new evening fixture or ticket sale is announced in this report.

An open tender would allow potential suppliers to examine technical requirements and eligibility directly. Companies should use the federation’s official notice when it is issued, rather than treat a news account as an invitation to submit a bid.

The project’s next checkable milestones are publication of tender documents, award, installation and acceptance. Reporting those stages will help fans understand when the announcement becomes a usable improvement to the stadium, while keeping expectations tied to documented progress.
