Opinion Submissions

South Sudan Press welcomes thoughtful, clearly argued opinion pieces. Opinion articles must be respectful, evidence-aware, and focused on public interest issues.

What we publish

  • Commentary on governance, peace, security, rights, humanitarian issues, and civic life
  • Arguments supported by facts, lived experience, or documented sources
  • Pieces that add insight, not insults

What we do not publish

  • Hate speech, incitement, or dehumanising language
  • Unverified allegations presented as fact
  • Personal attacks or calls for violence
  • Plagiarism or copied material

Length & format

  • Preferred length: 700–1,200 words
  • Include a clear headline and a short author bio (2–3 sentences)
  • If referencing data or claims, include links or citations where possible

Editing & disclosure

We may edit submissions for clarity, length, and legal risk. Authors may be asked to disclose relevant affiliations or conflicts of interest.
